Give Yourself Permission To Relax

Yes. I gave in. Fully with no regrets.

My husband was recognized for his work at his current job. He asked me if I wanted to come along because it was his work conference and then there were other events afterwards. Then he casually mentions that it was in Fort Lauderdale, FL at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and of course, after saying yes to the first part, a BIGGER yes to where this was going to be because this was my first experience for all of the above!

Part of the morning, he had to go to his conference and so I got up, got breakfast, and was starting to work on my upcoming calendar of events. Then I stopped and took a look outside my window.

I had to pause and ask myself when was the last time that I fully relaxed? Sad thing is that I couldn't come up with an answer. I am the person who is always on the go, two jobs, a up & coming podcast career, and throughout all of this, didn't stop and "smell the roses". I took advantage to that and for the rest of the afternoon, the rest of the trip, I gave in to the beautiful world of relaxing. Stress kicked to the curb. Phone down (for a few hours), and went for a walk. I enjoyed new foods that I never imagined that I would have even thought of trying, talked with other tourists & visitors, did some incredible sightseeing, and turned on the ultimate flirts on my husband (wink!).

So, take a moment and ask yourself, "When was the last time that I relaxed? That I did something that I enjoyed or always wanted to do, but never did?"

Let me know as we can all keep each other accountable of taking care of ourselves FIRST!
